A note from Germany....

Here is an email I received last night from my mother in Germany..... Sounds like a wonderful, hectic adventure already!

I am hoping when my charger arrives for my computer tonight that I will be ab le to figure out the blog stuff....and upload pics too......this iPad is very limited when it come to the blog and pics....so for now.....here goes;
Ponies arrived in Germany on the 18th with Andy...they spent the night in quarantine at the airport(Andy in a hotel) and were picked up the next morning and taken to Freund's barn in Dreieich, about 20 mins from airport. The USA Horse Pairs have been at Freund's for a few weeks...plus Chester Weber with his four in hand and spares.....which means eight big horses........so Andy says the barn was very chaotic...but my guys got to relax and have some turnout......Amy, Addison and I arrived in Frankfurt early Thursday AM.....cleared customs...no problem and picked up our Renault.......couldn't figure out how to start it....finally Amy hit the right button and off we went...only to not figure out how to get out of the parking.....I am thinking we were just tired and not reading German too well....and then after backing up...letting cars pass by....Observing how they worked the machine...did I see the English sign.....oh well....so off we went....had maps...no problem except there was major construction on the A5 and we were in the wrong lanes and went zipping by our exit by miles.....finally able to turn around and yes we got to Freund's.....first checked Amy and Addison in to the Christenhof which is right next to the barn.....and then....... Kissed the ponies and could not find Andy!!! Finally we did.....drove to lunch in the historical part of town next to the castle....photos will follow.....walked in the village.....(saw market which is on Thursdays....did not shop but will be there next Thursday for sure!) took Andy to the store...cuz he was starving.....he had run out of cash.....found my apartment...about 4mins from the barn...unloaded me!! Andy, Amy and Addison took the car and went back to their rooms to get Andy packed cuz he was heading to Reisenbach by train to navigate for Joe Yoder(horse pair driver from Aiken)......Amy, Addison and I drove Andy to the Frankfurt RR Station(using Fred Freund's car with a GPS).. no problem...dropped him off and now the girls were on their own again....couldn't work the GPS cuz in German....got lost.......finally found the barn....fed ponies....then we went out for pizza.....survived the 1st dinner out....really need to know German!
Drove the ponies Fri, Sat and Sunday....we are right next to a golf course (Neuhof) where the German National Golf Championships were being held this weekend......to get to The Forest we had to drive a dirt road right through the middle of the Championships!! Not conspicuous at all!!!
2nd trip tom the Forest we git lost so drove a little longer that we were supposed to! It was rainy and cold yesterday (Sunday) 50!!!!! today is about the same.....I will work with Michael this afternoon and so the training begins.....and went from Reisenbach by train to Bremerhaven yesterday where he spent the night in a hotel and will be picked up this morning by the agent to go get the Tahoe and trailer....hopefully all will run smoothly and he should be back in Dreieich around 6PM.....
Sooooooo....how is this for details??    Will do more pics, etc....love you all and miss you
